President Alvi calls for timely justice delivery to avoid aggravation of disputes

QUETTA: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday called for early disposal of the small domestic cases to avoid the aggravation of disputes and bloodshed. Addressing a seminar in Quetta, the president said the federal and provincial ombudsman had their key role in the promotion of public service and good governance. Govt reduces petrol, diesel prices

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products once again for the next 15 days, ARY News reported on Wednesday. While addressing a press conference, Ishaq Dar said that no major changes were seen in oil prices in global market. He announced the reduction in petrol price by Rs8 per litre, diesel price by Rs5 per litre and light diesel by Rs5 for the next 15 days. The new price of petrol has been reduced from 270 to Rs262 per litre, diesel from Rs258 to Rs253 per litre and light diesel from Rs152 to Rs147 per litre. No changes were made in the kerosene price which is stable at Rs164.70 per litre. CTD foils major terror bid, arrests outlawed TTP terrorist

HYDERABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday foiled a major terrorist attack in Hyderabad and arrested a suspected terrorist reportedly associated with outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ARY News reported. Temperature may rise to 44-50°C in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Health Department on Friday issued a warning for a possible heat wave in the province with the temperature likely to range between 44 and 50 degrees Celsius, ARY News reported. In a statement, the Sindh Health Department issued a warning for a possible heat wave during the month of June and outlined an action plan to make sure authorities are prepared. The department noted that temperatures across the world were continuously increasing due to climate change and Pakistan will also face the brunt of these temperatures. OGRA notifies increase in LNG prices

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday notified an increase of $0.17 per MMBTU in prices for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) for May, ARY News reported. OGRA has increased the LNG price for Sui Northern System by $0.16 while the price for the Sui Southern System has been increased by $0.17 for May. According to the OGRA notification, the new LNG price for SNGPL has been set at $13.39 per unit while the prices for SSGC has been set at $13.65 per MMBTU. Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notified a reduction in prices of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for consumers of two public gas utilities including Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC). CCTV footage shows muggers looting Karachi citizens in broad daylight

CCTV footage of a broad daylight robbery in Karachi has surfaced on social media which showed dacoits looting citizens after surrounding a vehicle in the PECHS Block 2 area, ARY News reported on Wednesday. The footage showed three dacoits on two motorcycles surrounding a vehicle and looting mobile phones and cash from a youth and a woman sitting in the car. Musadik Malik invites Qatari investors to invest in LNG sector

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik has invited Qatari investors to make more investment in LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) sector of Pakistan, ARY News reported on Monday. The minister was talking to Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan Ambassador Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who called on him in Islamabad. Speaking on this occasion, the Qatari Ambassador said his country is committed to fully supporting the brotherly country Pakistan in meeting its energy needs. Driver detained as truck crashes near White House; Nazi flag found

WASHINGTON: The United States (US) Secret Service said it had detained the driver of a rented box truck that crashed into security barriers near the White House on Monday night, perhaps intentionally, but that there were no injuries or ongoing danger. A Reuters witness said investigators found a Nazi swastika flag that apparently came from inside the truck, which crashed into barriers at Lafayette Square, adjacent to the White House grounds. Officers retrieved the flag and plastic evidence bags that had been laid out on the sidewalk following the crash and placed them in the back of the U-Haul, a Reuters photographer said. “Preliminary investigation reveals the driver may have intentionally struck the security barriers at Lafayette Square,” Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the Secret Service, said on Twitter.
