KARACHI: Karachi police on Friday recovered a teenage abducted girl and arrested the suspect in district West of the city, ARY News reported citing police. Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has revealed how his signature “arms out” pose was invented with the help of a notable choreographer. In his decades-long career, the “Dunki” actor has given multiple iconic performances, however, his signature “arms out’ pose remains permanent in almost all of his movies. Now, Shah Rukh Khan has given credit to senior Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan for the pose. When asked about the pose during the 77th Locarno Film Festival, the “Raees” actor revealed that Saroj Khan told him to just stretch his arms out when he could not perform a specific dance step. According to Khan, Bollywood actors in the 90s were supposed to know how to ‘dip’ during dance performances. Workers’ remittances record US$3bn inflow during July

KARACHI: Remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis recorded an inflow of US$ 3 billion during July 2024, the first month of the current fiscal year, ARY News reported citing the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). In a statement issued here, the central bank said that in terms of growth during July 2024, remittances increased by 47.6 percent on a year-on-year basis “Remittances inflows during July 2024 were mainly sourced from Saudi Arabia (US$761.1 million), United Arab Emirates (US$611.1 million), United Kingdom (US$ 443.5 million), and, the United States of America (US$300.1 million),” the SBP’s statement read. Prime Minister Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashood on Friday issued a clarification over a statement where he credited PM Shehbaz Sharif for javelin ace Arshad Nadeem’s triumph in the Paris Olympics 2024. Speaking on the ARY News programme “Sports Room” , the PML-N leader said that the javelin ace was discovered in the Punjab Youth Festival, introduced by Shahbaz Sharif in 2012 when he was the chief minister of the province. “We began providing a platform to those talented girls and boys who wanted to pursue sports. The tragic incident occurred in India’s Ghaziabad when the man reportedly suffered a heart attack while running on the treadmill, according to Indian media outlets. Turkiye to join South Africa’s ICJ genocide case against Israel

Turkiye on Monday announced to officially submit its declaration of intervention with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel over the war in Gaza. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the announcement during a press conference in Cairo. Hakan Fidan said the submission before the ICJ at The Hague is expected on Wednesday. In May, Turkiye had announnced that it would make a bid after making the required legal preparations to intervene in South Africa’s case against Israel at the ICJ over its genocide in Gaza. “We condemned civilians being killed on October 7,” the Turkish foreign minister said in a press conference. “But Israel systematically killing thousands of innocent Palestinians and rendering a whole residential area uninhabitable is a crime against humanity, attempted genocide, and the manifestation of genocide,” he added.
