KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched the modern Airbus A-320 simulator for the training of pilots, refresher courses and air safety, ARY News reported on Friday. The PIA CEO Arshad Malik launched the modern Airbus A-320 simulator which is the first simulator of its kind in the entire region. Arshad Malik said that the simulator complex is being established for the training of pilots in which Airbus A-320, Boeing 777 and jumbo jet simulators are available under one roof. He added that other airlines are also contacting the national airline for the training of their pilots. He said that it takes usually many years to install the simulators but the PIA team completed its installation work within only five months. WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has held a meeting with the executive directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington today, ARY News reported on Friday. They exchanged views on the current state of Pakistan’s economy in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha, Secretary Finance and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Dr Reza Baqir. Finance Minister Miftah Ismail reached Washington for talks with International Monetary Fund (IMF) which will continue until April 24. KARACHI: Former Station House Officer (SHO) of Surjani police station in Karachi has been named as a suspect in the blind murder case of a Tando Allahyar man, ARY News reported.  According to the prime suspect, Asad-un-Nabi helped her murder her cousin. Tando Allahyar police on Friday arrested a girl name Tamseel for allegedly murdering her cousin Ali Raza with the help of former Surjani SHO Asad-un-Nabi. The police claim that Tamseel murdered her cousin because he was forcing her to marry him against her will, the police say. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has raised questions over today’s session of the National Security Committee (NSC) chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and its declaration, ARY News reported on Friday. WASHINGTON: The United States will provide Ukraine with a new $500 million infusion of aid to help the government in Kyiv continue paying salaries, pensions and providing services, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Thursday. Yellen detailed the assistance following her meeting Wednesday with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Finance Minister Sergiy Marchenko, saying it was necessary to help their government continue to function amid the ongoing Russian invasion. “The needs of Ukraine are urgent, and we plan to deploy this direct aid to Ukraine as soon as possible to be used on most urgent needs,” Yellen said. “We know this is only the beginning of what Ukraine will need to rebuild.
